It’s only been a week since we last posted with the news that the birth mother had decided to keep her little girl.  And in that week, so much has happened… again, all at once. I never once lost hope that we would someday have a baby.  I did however wonder when it would happen.  I just assumed that we would have to wait a while and maybe even pursue other avenues.  And at the same time, I still grieved over the little girl that I thought we would have here with us in our home right now.  So even thinking about the future and another baby, didn’t exactly feel right. It’s been a week since we found out the news that we are more than likely not getting the little baby girl we were waiting for.  I say more than likely because the mother is known for changing her mind a lot, and well, God can do whatever He wants! The beginning of our journey through adoption has been an exciting and emotional one, to say the least.  Many know the story, but for those who don’t, I’ll give you the short version.  About seven weeks ago, a good friend of ours called us completely out of the blue with an amazing opportunity to adopt a little girl from someone she knows. THIS WHOLE STORY started 2 weeks ago. But it really starts officially today, April 10, 2009 at 2:00PM. The first of the big appoinents with our attorney. It’s now 2:15pm…Our attorney is a bit behind. But he’s a long time family friend so we’ll let it pass. KIDDING – Actually Melissa and I wouldn’t want any other attorney working with us on this…So we’ll wait as long as it takes. It’s taking nerves of steel as Melissa and I are sitting in the conference room at our attorneys office. And I should mention we DON’T have nerves of steel…nope… 2:20PM…Please...
